Medical Crews Air Escort’s medical crew includes certified flight paramedics, licensed registered nurses (RNs) and certified respiratory therapists (CRTs), all who have been trained in altitude physiology and the medical impact flying can have on a patient. Air Escort’s network of nurses and paramedics are stationed in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, on call 24 hours a day. At least one Air Escort crew member will fly with the patient and will coordinate medical reporting when delivering the patient. Paramedics and Flight Nurses Our paramedics and RNs maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS), as well as special training in aviation medical escort. Respiratory Therapists CRTs fly with patients when a ventilator or other type of respiratory care is needed. Most respiratory therapists will be accompanied by a Doctor, Nurse or Paramedic. |
